Fill your life with hugs and kisses

Fill your life with hugs and kisses

Yes, you have guessed it the letter this week over on Something Completely Different  is X. I have used it to represent kisses and as you may know by now I rather like to view life through rose coloured spectacles. There is so much anguish in the world which can be very depressing so I do try to concentrate on seeing the good rather than the bad and to enjoy the simple things in life.

I think this letter based challenge has been a superb starting point for creating. When I went upstairs I had no idea what to do and after a bit of stamping and playing this came about. I liked the way the overlapping flaps  created "X's" in their own right. I look forward to seeing all of your creations.

Play Date Cafe No: 26

This is an entry for the Play Date Cafe Challenge No: 26 that I am putting in on behalf of my daughters, Harriet and Ella and their friend Kat. As you can see the colours fit in with this weeks challenge with the biscuit base being the terra-cotta colour. They certainly had fun with the pink and blue icing and little silver balls. I haven't been able to find time the last couple of weeks to join in  so I was really please these fitted the brief. Thanks girls and they taste delicious.

What are Little Girls made of?

This has been on of those rare wonderful times when the make goes swimmingly from start to finish. I have just had a ball with everything coming together just so. I think t helps because I have been thinking about this make and planning it in my head. Hence the Love Hearts. So this is my contribution the the Stampotique challenge. I love the fact it is fortnightly with gives more time to mull over ideas before the deadline.
The loopy border punch is my all time fav. border punch. I love it. Thank you Martha Stewart.

Home is where the Heart is said the Bluebird of Happiness

Home is where the Heart is said the Bluebird of Happiness

The letter this week on Something Completely Different is H. So this is my take on the theme.
A Zetti stamp placed behind an acrylic tag. The bluebird is an Elusive Images stamp available from Graphicus and the letters of course are Tim Holtz grungeboard elements. There are some great makes over on the SCD blog so why not take a look.

Botanicals with Gingersnaps

Over on Gingersnaps this week is the theme Botanicals. So use anything that grows. I have chosen this lovely stamp from Elusive Images, available from Graphicus, of a Hydrangea. I love this stamp with the script behind.

First I coloured some card with some of the new Tim Holtz distress inks. Something called ....velvet and....moss and some Milled Lavender. Then stamped with image with archival black. Then I used the Tim Holtz distress inks to water colour the image further, using ....velvet, spun sugar, worn lipstick and a little Aged Mahogany. Layered it onto an embossed cuttlebug paper and others from my stash. Used my favourite edge punch from Martha Stewart and I thought the ribbon just set the colours off perfectly.

Over on Something Completely Different this week the letter to play with is D. This is my contribution for the week. There are some great makes by the design team this week so why not take a look. We had a great number of you join us last week which was sooooo good. Thank you for playing along. I enjoyed visiting your creations, but must apologize to Aussiekate an Chris Olsen, Glowbug as I was unable to open your blogs.

Party Hats Gingersnaps Birthday postcard

This is another postcard I made to celebrate Gingersnaps birthday. I thought I would post it as at the moment I do not feel like creating anything! It does not feel as if my Mojo has gone as such. I am just not in the mood and there is lots of other things going on. Mojo leaving to me feels more like when you want to create something but nothing flows.

So School hols has something to do with it. Garden demands another. Clutter sorting and designing new bedroom space and ordering furniture for it. Plus fighting bugs and sore throat. These all play a part and I just don't feel I have any spare left to create with.

Hope this re adjust itself soon or I may begin to panic.

The Good Earth with Gingersnaps

It has just come to mind that I had forgotten to upload this. It was for The Good Earth over on Gingersnaps last week. I had made it a little while ago and it had slipped my mind. It is one of the Paperbag Studio stamps which I then water coloured with distress inks. It has a very serene feeling this image which I felt fitted the subject well and depicts some of the beauties that we need to thank the good earth for.

The Letter B with Something completely Different

The letter this week with SCD is the letter B. Make something that relate to this letter. There is more inspiration over on the SCD site. Why not take a look.

The holidays come and I always think I will have more time to spend in my craft room and make more. However it is always the complete opposite. All the makes are more rushed and deadlines seem to pile up. At least i made this one even though we had an all day power cut on the Thursday.

Birthday Postcard No: 2

This is my second posting of one of the postcards I made for the Gingersnap Birthday Celebration in March. As I knew I would not be posting anything else today I thought I would celebrate Easter Monday with you and post this up. I think it says it all! Lol.
Have a a good day!

Tag Tuesday: Stuck on collage

This is the first time I have had time to join Tag Tuesday challenge for quite a while which is a shame as I had always enjoyed it when time allowed. It has made me happy to be able to join in and play this week. This is my contribution and I did enjoy myself.

Stampotique Easter Challenge

Following my last make, following my cold, I woke up this morning with this image in my head and with this thought! So as a result  I made a second entry for the Stampotique challenge.

Easter with Stampotique

Well I eventually got around to making something for the Easter Stampotique  challenge. I did not feel like making a card or similar. This is what I came up with. The colours are actually very pretty, using some spring paper from Crafty Individuals layered onto grungeboard to make it stronger before cutting out, but I could not capture this on film. It looks rather bland in colour.

The letter W - Welcome

Over on Something Completely Different there is a new challenge topic for the month. To use given the letter in some way in your creation. The format is up to you. This weeks letter is W.I think everyone on the design team has interpreted it differently which is rather fun. I think it is a great idea.

I have used a foam "W" stamp in the background and used it with acrylic paint to create a resist. When it was dry I inked with distress inks and dampened a paper towel to take the excess off the acrylic "W's"
I then stamped this new Stampotique Welcome Door stamp along with cat. I also used another stamp and a masking technique to create this little fellow peering out of the window in the door, waiting for his friends to arrive.

Vintage with Lots to Do challenge

I have not had time to play the Lots to Do challenge for quite a while. I am very happy to be able to join in again this week. My work load has been less. One of my jobs has finished for Easter so i have had more time to my self.

I think this is the first real vintage make I have done. Rather out of my comfort zone but I am happy with how it has turned out. A little bit of old lace does wonders.

Finished work and I have come down with a stinking cold. Why does this often happen? The adrenaline levels must have relaxed and cold systems have grabbed me from behind.
