Art Journey: Tags

Tags is the theme for April at the Art Journey challenge. I am joining in at the ninth hour, so to speak.
I have used these wonderful fish and sea urchin stamps from their collection. I love this set of stamps as they always reming me of scuba diving in Bermuda. I have created a torn collage background of various scrap papers to give the impression of the sea and the waves in sun and shadow.

Gingersnaps: Red & Gold

This weeks challenge with Gingersnaps is a colour challenge: Red & Gold. I decided to make a clean and simple card and let the gold embossing do the talking. There are a number of CAS cards at the moment, which I admit have a refreshing quality to them. I layered it onto gold patterned paper to continue the theme.

Everything Wendy Vecchi: Challenge 8

See the Flowers

This is an extremely late entry, maybe too late? However I am pleased to be joining in, but it was a very close call if in fact I have made it? Pop over to Everything Wendy Vecchi to join this fun group and enjoy using your stamps more.

Crafty Individuals New Challenge, "Squares"

There is a new challenge going on with Crafty Individuals. Hooray! Who does not like their images?

This is their first regular challenge. I believe they are to be monthly. The first subject is "Squares".
I decided to use this well known stamp of theirs but added one of their booklet images to create contrast to the stamping. I also turned it into a hanging rather than a card or tag and added real beading where the stamped image would have been.

I wonder what this creation says about my present goings on? I do like the way she has a steely direct look that is unflinching and penetrating. Any thoughts please let me know.

Could it be "Don't mess with me"

Ironic - or what?

Ironic- or what?

I created this card yesterday, Sunday, for the Less is more Challenge. A touch of red.

Today, Monday, I have been made redundant!
Looking at this card I just find it so ironic. How did I manage to create such a perfectly suited card for how my Monday would turn out?
I just hope it means new doors will open?
I have never been made redundant before. It is a very odd feeling. At the moment I feel numb and bemused as I cannot see it is for the quality of my work, nor am I hardly ever absent from work.

I will have to trust that there are better things around the corner? Only time will tell. How many more cliches can I come up with?

Blogaversary

Today is my second year of blogging! I thought it was about time I had a little Blogaversary with some candy to give away. I will be adding to this stash but I was eager to get the show on the road. So without further ado here is the first offering:

In this first bundle there is Pearlidoodles, some glitter pots, a book of backing papers, some heavy glossy embossed card in various colours and of course the wonderful Tim Holtz stamp set, which have some of my favourite words on it.

The only criteria I would like to ask of you is:- If you do not currently follow my blog I would appreciate you becoming a follower and to leave me a message so I can contact the lucky winner. That is if you would like your name to be put in the hat or random number generator.

The Blogaversary will run until April 30th.

If the prize winner does not contact me by Friday 6th May I will re draw another name.

I would be grateful if you wanted to put the Blogaversay picture in your sidebar to let others know, but it is not an essential.
